Exhibition at MOSTYN Gallery

In Spring 2019 we were very excited to take part in our first solo exhibition, in Gallery 6 at MOSTYN Gallery in Llandudno, North Wales. Titled ‘Sky on High to Burrow Below’, the exhibition featured a selection of our screen prints on paper, a large composition of animals on birch ply, and our printed textile collection of pouches & containers.

It was a great, if not slightly daunting, experience preparing for the exhibition. Planning out new prints, selecting which pieces to include and deciding on a lay out that made sense and looked balanced. Getting everything printed and framed. It’s been good to reflect on the body of work we’ve produced in the two years we’ve been doing this together, to see what works together and what threads we would like to develop in the future. We love the idea of trying to capture a feeling of place, a glimpse into a hidden moment, and we hope to continue exploring that in our prints in the future. It was also great to be able to produce a few one off larger scale pieces such as the animals on birch ply. We had always envisioned them displayed together on a wall but never really had the space or opportunity to do so before. We received some good feedback about the exhibition, and were lucky enough to sell some pieces too.

The exhibition ran for four months and we both had a few trips down to sunny Llandudno to look around the exhibition and gallery (and to dip our toes in the sea of course). It was so nice to see our work presented professionally in such a beautiful space. Big thanks to Barry and the wonderful team at MOSTYN.

You can still find a selection of our work in the gallery shop at MOSTYN Gallery, Llandudno
